This 4″x4″ painting is part of a series of paintings depicting the human lifecycle with each color representing a stage of life with white=birth and gold ultimately equaling our passage back to the dust from whence we came.  The lines, bend, twist, turn and space differently, depicting the way in which we are pushed and pulled by fate.

The use of marigolds signifies wealth, health and prosperity, but the vibrant colors of the flowers remains shrouded and inaccessible, as we all struggle to find these things in life.  Occasionally, they shimmer, revealing hints of the good things to come, a tease of the promise we all have at birth.
